A petting zoo that comes to you

Gentle farm animals visit your event so guests can pet, feed and meet them up close. We handle the animals. You enjoy your guests.

What a petting zoo visit looks like

We arrive early, set up a safe area for the animals, and walk the host through the rules for the day. Guests can pet, brush and feed the animals with an adult beside them. We stay with the animals the whole time.

A petting zoo is a gentle, hands-on way for children to meet farm animals. It also works well for seniors, church groups, schools and community events, because there is no pressure. People watch, pet or simply sit nearby.

What to plan before we arrive

  • Space: a flat, safe, enclosed area with room for guests to move around.
  • Hand washing: soap and running water if you can, or hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol as a backup.
  • Food rules: keep food and drinks away from the animal area.
  • Shade and water: animals, like people, need a break from heat.
  • An adult host: someone to greet us and stay with the group.
Safety comes first

We follow public health guidance for animal contact. Read our petting zoo safety checklist for parents, based on CDC advice.

Questions

Good questions, plain answers

How far in advance should I request a date?

As early as you can. Weekends in spring and fall fill first, so send your request once you know the date and place.

What do you need from the host?

A safe, fenced or contained space, shade if it is hot, a place to wash hands, and an adult host who will stay with the guests. We will go through the details with you.

Can small children touch the animals?

Yes, with an adult beside them. Children touch gently, wash their hands afterward, and keep food and drinks away from the animals.

Do you come indoors?

Tell us about the space. Most visits work best outside or in a barn-like space with a hard, easy-to-clean floor.

Which animals will you bring?

That depends on your date, the weather, the space and the guests. Tell us what you are planning and we will suggest the right mix.
